e scorecard
Tennis Etiquette
* Show up to the match 10 minutes ahead of time to allow for warm-up.
* Silence your cell phones before the match begins.
* To begin play, spin a racquet. The winner of the spin gets to decide whether they will serve or recieve. The loser gets to chose which side of the court they would like to begin play.
* Make sure you have two balls when it is your serve. The server should call out the score before each serve. You do not have to run after the third ball unless the server requests.
* Always respect the line calls of your opponent. If a ball bounces on any part of the line, it is IN!
* If you are not sure if the opponent's ball was in or out, it's IN!
* If there is a disagreement on the call, replay the point, even if it was a second service
* The recieving team calls the serves IN or OUT, not the serving team.
* To call a ball out, the correct hand gesture would be to hold up one finder. To call a ball in using your hand, use the whole hand.
* Never walk behind a court when a ball is in play.
* If a ball rolls on an adjoining court, do not go on their court to retrieve your ball. Continue to use the remaining two balls. Wait for a break in the adjoining game to ask for the ball to be returned.
* Play at the server's pace. Do not intentionally cause delays.
* Good sports"woman"ship should be the norm, not the exception! Please do not use profanity on the court!
