This season, we decided to NOT give towels to our winners!  The first place teams got new tennis bags and the second place teams got Academy gift cards!  Thanks to Kim for having us at her home!  

If you are interested in buying our League T-shirt, please contact Aimee at 616-8500 or aimee.benoit@yahoo.com.  Ladies' Fit tees are $12.50 and regular fit tees are $8.50.  Aren't they cute?  Most people are ordering their ladies' fit tee one size larger than their regular fit tee.  Please place your order by Dec.20.  I would like to pass out the ordered tees at the Jan 10th meeting.  Any orders taken after this date will have an increased price due to setup fees from t-shirt shop we used.  We are not making any profits off of the tshirts, it's just for FUN!

Relay for Life

Julie Benoit is forming a team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.  The walk will be held on April 30 at Jennings High School.  If you would like to participate, please go to www.relayforlife.org/jeffersondavisla.  Click on her team's name,which is Support Our Girls.  On this screen you can either donate or join her team.  The cost to join her team is $7, and survivors are free!  All proceeds go to breast cancer awareness.

Reminders about score sheets

Monika asked me to remind you about a few things about score sheets....

1. Home teams are responsible for turning in score sheets to the Country Club by 10:00 AM on the Monday following the scheduled match, or the home team will forfeit the match.

2. If you split sets, please put the initials of the winners above their sets won.

3. At the end of league play, winners will be determined by most matches won, least games lost, least sets lost, most games won.

4. Scores will be posted on the blog by Monika as Matches Won and Games Lost. {Thanks, Monika! I think this will be a great way for all of us to keep track of our rankings!}

Coman Tie Break

PROCEDURES
* Switch sides after first point to the deuce court
* Then switch sides every four points thereafter
* Each player serves on the side they served from in the match

FORMAT
a} Set tie break: The first to win SEVEN points by 2 games wins "GAME" and "SET"
b} Third Set Match Tiebreak: First to win TEN points by 2 wins MATCH
c} The player whose turn it is to serve will serve from the deuce court
d} After the first point the players will change ends and the following two points shall be served by the opponents (in doubles, the player of the opposing team due to serve next) starting from the add court.
e} After this each player/team shall serve alternately for two consecutive points (starting from the ad court); changing ends after four points, until the end of the tie-break game.
f} Switch sides after points 1, 5, 9, 13, 17.....and at the conclusion

Fall Registration

Ranking Day is Tomorrow!

For those of you playing in the Fall League, ranking will be tomorrow (Aug 16) at JHS. Beginners need to be there by 5:50, and intermediates to advanced by 6:30. This is a free ranking clinic and there will be no drills hit by the pro (Jason from the Lake Charles Racquet Club). Please do not be nervous! If you have any questions or cannot attend, call Brittney!

Ronnie Walters from Greywood Country Club will be hosting a tennis clinic Saturday, August 14 at Jennings Country Club. It is $30 per person. Beginners to Intermediates will be from 8:30-10:00. Intermediates to Advanced will be 10:00-11:30. Also, he will host a clinic for children later that afternoon. Call Brittney if you are interested.
